Who Is a Good Candidate?

Body contouring candidates are generally close to their healthy body weight and often have localized collections of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. Non-surgical contouring options are popular for areas such as the abdomen, "love handles," and inner thighs. For more extensive fat removal, most appropriate option is often liposuction in our New Jersey practice. Also, a tummy tuck is a popular choice for people who have lost a significant amount of weight and women who have had children, with laxity of the abdominal muscles.

• CoolSculpting®
  

  CoolSculpting is a non-surgical method for removing unwanted fat from various areas of the body. CoolSculpting works by cooling the fat cells until they almost freeze, causing these cells to atrophy and be removed by the body's own natural cleansing process. The treatment is fast and simple – patients can enjoy a book, do work, or even nap during the procedure. Improvements in body contour are seen gradually over the weeks following the treatment.

• Liposuction
  

  Traditional tumescent liposuction is popular with our New Jersey patients. Having stood the test of time, it has long been, and continues to be, one of the most effective body contouring options available. Traditional liposuction involves injecting the target area with tumescent solution, in order to help break up the fat cells and minimize post-surgical trauma. Then, the fat cells are suctioned away. Dr. D'Amico offers an advanced, more gentle form of liposuction called HydraSolve that minimizes the recovery process. Other liposuction enhancements include radio frequency assisted liposuction (RFAL) and power assisted liposuction (PAL).

• Tummy Tuck
  

  A tummy tuck, technically called abdominoplasty, can help improve the appearance of the midsection. It is a popular procedure in particular for women who have had children and wish to restore the look of a tight and toned abdomen. Unlike other contouring options such as ultrasonic liposuction, patients choose a tummy tuck because in addition to removing excess skin, it addresses the underlying abdominal muscles by tightening and repositioning them to restore muscle competence and toned appearance.

• BodyTite™
  

  BodyTite is a liposuction method that removes fat and simultaneously tightens skin. This body contouring procedure employs Radiofrequency Assisted LipoTightening (RFAL™) used in an FDA clinical trial. This technology, is a patented technology that combines fat removal with stimulation of collagen matrix in the skin and fat layers to tighten the skin. The result is a smoother and firmer appearance with reduced fat in the targeted area. This procedure can also be combined with a tummy tuck for enhanced contouring results.

• Cellulaze™
  

  Cellulaze is a two-tiered approach to cellulite removal. Using a specially design laser tool, this treatment goes beneath the surface of the skin to smooth bulging fat pockets while stimulating the growth of stronger, more elastic skin. Just one Cellulaze cellulite treatment at our New Jersey practice can transform dimpled skin to create a stronger, smoother, more attractive appearance.

• HydraSolve™
  

  A sophisticated new technology, HydraSolve is a gentle, yet effective body contouring option. Fat cells are removed through tiny incisions with a special liposuction cannula that uses Tissue Liquefaction Technology™ (TLT). Warm, low-pressure, natural saline solution helps loosen fat cells and causes them to shift from a solid to a liquid. Because the fat is liquefied, Dr. D'Amico can gently and precisely manipulate the cannula to extract the targeted fat cells without affecting surrounding tissue.

• Smartlipo™
  

  This liposuction enhancement uses a thin, laser-tipped cannula to liquefy unwanted fat making its removal extremely gentle. Surrounding tissues are not harmed, so recovery is generally more rapid than with traditional liposuction alone.
