Brow Lift in New Jersey

The concept of the forehead or brow lift (which means the same thing) is to accomplish repositioning the brows back to where they belong, because this relieves the lateral hooding of the upper eyelids and eliminates most of the wrinkles in the forehead. Secondly, it removes or severely weakens the muscles of frowning, sometimes called the "11's," those two lines between your eyes at the top of your nose. This procedure restores the brightness and well rested look to a person's face.

During a brow lift here in New Jersey, Dr. Richard D'Amico can also weaken the frontalis muscle to soften some of the horizontal lines. Of course, a temporary way to achieve this skin smoothing effect is with BOTOX® Cosmetic. For those in need of a permanent solution, however, a surgical forehead lift is the only way to accomplish this.

Who is a Good Candidate?

Healthy men and women who experience bothersome brow drooping and forehead wrinkling are appropriate candidates for this procedure.

How It's Done

A brow lift may be performed in one of two ways: either through the use of an endoscope (surgical video device) and special instruments placed through small incisions made within the hairline, or through incisions in the scalp, called a "coronal" or "open" lift. Both allow the tissue and muscle beneath the skin to be repositioned to correct the visible creases and furrows in your forehead. The endoscopic technique may be done in conjunction with incisions hidden within the natural crease of the upper eyelids to eliminate frown lines between the brows, on or above the bridge of the nose.

Dr. D'Amico will discuss the best solution for you at your consultation. Both brow lift techniques are performed in his AAAASF nationally accredited onsite surgical suite under general anesthesia. Many people considering a brow lift also are interested in eyelid surgery for a completely refreshed upper face appearance.
