I've never believed in placing over–the–top breast implants, so I was gratified to notice that there's a Hollywood–driven trend to more natural–looking
breast augmentation. Since "natural" is the only way I think a breast augmentation should look, it's encouraging to see that my patients and I aren't the only ones with this conviction!
Both Kate Hudson and Megan fox chose implants that were appropriately sized for their height and weight. Dismissing the Heidi Montag syndrome of F implants, these gals, and many who are following them in the trend, opted for breast enhancements that look like gifts from Mother Nature.
Beautiful breast enhancements create lovely–looking breasts with a delicate cleavage that doesn't shout "IMPLANTS!" when you look at a woman. That doesn't mean "small" per se, but implants that result in a C or D cup, rather than the implants sported by older Hollywood A–listers like Dolly Parton and Pamela Anderson.
When implants first made an appearance, many women got very large ones. Perhaps they thought, "Well, I'm getting implants; I might as well get a big enough pair to really make a statement." It's been my recent experience, however, that the pendulum is swinging back toward a more normal look in implants and I welcome that shift. Today, women want to look natural and proportionate, not just bigger.
Call me if you have an interest in discussing
breast augmentation. I have dozens of options for size, type and projection, as well as options for placing the implants through the underarm, areola or through an incision underneath the breast. Hundreds, if not thousands, of women have visited my New Jersey plastic surgery practice to create a more beautiful, rounded bust line. I promise we'll steer you in the right direction for your particular body type and the life you lead!
of carefully chosen breast implants can improve your figure and the way you see yourself!

Body sculpting is a catchall phrase that can include liposuction and/or abdominoplasty (a tummy tuck). The decision between whether a patient needs liposuction or a tummy tuck basically hinges around skin quality and whether or not there is sagging tissue. Sagging skin can't be eliminated with liposuction. Skin quality is, therefore, the sticking point.
As we age, both men and women experience sagging of the tissues on the abdomen, as well as other places like the buttocks, face and under the upper arms. (Gravity is not our friend!) Further, while weight loss can give you a healthier, leaner body, if you've lost more than 20 lbs. or so, you might have sagging skin in the belly area. Pregnancy is also tough on the body in terms of post–baby bellies—the muscles in the abdomen have been pulled apart and most women have stretch marks from pregnancy. These stretch marks won't go away with creams or with the passage of time, though they will fade. Laser treatments can help fade stretch marks but, nevertheless, they will always be visible unless they are surgically removed.
Fortunately, technology is our friend. See below a range of treatments based upon the problems you may be experiencing with body sagging.
IF YOU HAVE
» Bothersome sagging body tissue, generally good skin, no stretch marks
I am one of the few plastic surgeons in the U.S. selected to participate in FDA clinical trials of
BodyTite. This new technology uses patented Radiofrequency Assisted LipoTightening (RFAL) to effect body contouring by combining liposuction and skin shrinkage.
The special feature about BodyTite liposuction is that, while removing excess fat, the radio frequency waves tighten the skin. While it won't remove lots of hanging skin, if you're experiencing some skin laxity and your skin is generally still resilient, BodyTite might be just the ticket for you. Not only does BodyTite remove the discrete areas of fat, the radio frequency technology built into BodyTite will help firm up the skin in the treated area(s).
While the FDA study is ongoing, I'm offering BodyTite without any additional charge to appropriate liposuction patients. While it's most often used on the body, a special, tiny cannula is used on the neck, delivering a very nice, smooth result for those with early neck sagging or a thicker neck than they would prefer.
» Discrete areas of fat, great skin, few or no stretch marks
Although there are several ways to take care of lax skin and fat deposits, my favorite has always been traditional, tumescent liposuction. Liposuction is a fantastic method to achieve a more attractive body contour. Developed back in the 80's, liposuction has come a long way—to the point that it's sometimes marketed under brand names to get more excitement going. Rest assured, they are all a form of
liposuction.
Patients often come to my Englewood, NJ plastic surgery office with an interest in body sculpting and ask if I do a specific type of liposuction. During their consultation, my approach is to have them tell me what they would like to achieve through a
body sculpting procedure. In truth, neither the device nor the technique is as important as the skill of the surgeon doing the procedure! A talented surgeon with years of experience performing liposuction will almost always achieve a better outcome than a surgeon who focuses only on a specific device but who may have no specialized plastic surgery training or credentials.
My practice of employing the tumescent technique of liposuction enables me to consistently deliver excellent results with only the tiny scars from the point where the cannula was inserted. This means a rapid recovery for you. My expertise has been honed over many procedures over a long period of time.
» Sagging skin and tissues, stretch marks
The most effective procedure to eliminate sagging skin and stretch marks due to weight gain & loss cycles or pregnancy is a
tummy tuck, known in the medical profession as an abdominoplasty. An abdominoplasty removes fat and excess skin and tightens the abdominal muscles. Most, if not all, stretch marks are also removed, except those on the sides of the abdomen. The scar is hidden in the bikini line and fades nicely with time.
If you have past pregnancies, you'd likely reap the most benefit from a Mommy Makeover, which includes a breast enhancement such as a breast augmentation, a breast lift or a breast reduction, depending on your needs. This is done at the same time as the tummy tuck. Although you'll never completely appear as though your body has not experienced pregnancy, you will be very close to your pre–pregnancy appearance and, with the addition of the breast enhancement, your breasts may look better than they ever have.
