Patient is a 30 year-old woman who complains that she has always hated her nose, particularly the bump on the nasal bridge. She explains that her goal is having a natural look, a nose that fits her face. Right now she feels as though her nose dominates her face, especially in profile.
Physical examination reveals a nasal dorsal convexity with a fairly narrow root, narrow base and appropriately narrow tip on a heart shaped face. Air movement is good. The tip is pulled down with animation and smiling and the upper lip is a bit short.
As her cosmetic surgeon in New Jersey, it too is my goal to make her nose more suitable to her face. Together we discussed her rhinoplasty procedure, her expectations, as well as recovery time and time missed from work. She understands that her final result will take several months or more.
On the morning of surgery, she came to my New Jersey plastic surgery facility for her rhinoplasty (nose reshaping). She met my highly skilled team of O.R. nurses (most of whom he met during her consultation and pre-operative visits) as well as my board certified anesthesiologist. Following her procedure, she recovered with my plastic surgery nurse before being discharged for home. The patient did very well after her New Jersey plastic surgery. The following day, she returned to my office to have her packing removed. A week later her splint was removed and was able to return to work. She and her husband are very pleased with her natural, refined appearance . She is pictured only a few months after surgery so her final result can not be fully appreciated. She can expect continued improvement and refinement over the next several months. (Rhinoplasty can take a year or so for final results due to small amounts of swelling).
