If you are thinking about having liposuction to do away with persistent cellulite, you might want to consider Cellulaze. This highly effective cellulite treatment, available in Bergen County and Englewood, NJ from Dr. Richard D’Amico, is designed specifically to address the dimples and bumps that are caused by cellulite while strengthening, toning, and ultimately, smoothing the skin.

Dr. Richard D’Amico uses Cellulaze to go beneath the skin and target the core causes of cellulite. This minimally invasive treatment requires only tiny incisions and a local anesthetic, leading to a relatively quick and pain-free recovery*.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

Cellulaze is a good cellulite treatment option for residents of Fort Lee and Teaneck, NJ and beyond who have dimpled skin on their thighs and/or buttocks caused by pockets of fat below the surface that are characteristic of cellulite. The majority of Cellulaze patients are female, since cellulite is a hereditary condition that mainly affects women. But men are not immune; they can develop cellulite as well. Although people who are overweight may be more susceptible to developing cellulite, even those who exercise regularly and eat a healthful diet can be plagued by the skin dimpling or “cottage cheese” surface that stems from factors such as genes, hormones and age.

For liposuction patients who want to have excess fat removed in addition to treating their cellulite, Dr. D’Amico may recommend a procedure such as HydraSolve™ in conjunction with Cellulaze.

How Cellulaze Works

Because cellulite is caused by a combination of swollen fat cells and inelastic skin, Cellulaze concentrates on both subcutaneous fat and the overlying skin that makes the pockets of fat visible. The tiny Cellulaze laser-fiber tool is inserted under the skin through a small tube called a cannula to liquefy pockets of trapped fat. The laser energy is also used to cut the bands of fibrous tissue that pull down on the skin and cause dimpling on the surface. At the same time, the laser stimulates collagen production to gradually increase your skin’s strength and elasticity.

The Cellulaze procedure takes about 1 hour, or sometimes longer depending on the size of the area being treated.* It requires only a local anesthetic, so the patient is awake during the treatment.

Recovery & Results

Initially there may be a small amount of bruising and some soreness in the treated area after a Cellulaze treatment. There may be some fluid leakage from the incision sites, and you may need to wear a compression garment temporarily to reduce swelling. Our patients can resume their daily activities after a couple of days, and they usually return to their regular exercise routines within 1 to 2 weeks.*

Unlike many other treatments for cellulite, Cellulaze is a long-term solution that leaves your skin thicker and smoother. The skin at the treatment site should gradually become stronger and more elastic in the months following the procedure.*
