What is MyEllevate®?

Portrait of young woman with clean fresh skin and soft, delicate make up.MyEllevate® is a suture suspension system that has been carefully developed to utilize ICLED® technology. This is the first and only patented light-guided protocol for cosmetic procedures.

The MyEllevate® technique places the suture suspension in an anatomical pattern that lifts and tightens not only the skin but also underlying fat, muscle, and glands as needed to rejuvenate facial contours.

Who is a Candidate for MyEllevate®?

The MyEllevate® suspension necklift is ideal for the adult who wants to refine their facial contours and has good skin elasticity that will allow natural retraction after the procedure.

How does MyEllevate® work?

MyEllevate® is a sophisticated treatment for lifting sagging neck tissues. After you are locally anesthetized, Dr. D’Amico maps out the entry points near your platysma muscle bands under your chin. He will then designate the order through which each of these tiny sites are entered with the ICLED lighted suture rod. The ICLED rod then runs permanent suture, a support sling, through these entry points. Dr. D’Amico basically creates a hammock-like suture pattern that holds the neck tissues in this higher position.

This isn’t to be confused with a surgical neck lift or with a thread lift. A surgical neck lift removes excess tissue, creates scarring, and requires recovery. A PDO thread lift places absorbable sutures under the skin to lift the lower cheeks and jowls, but these threads are then absorbed by the body, so the procedure only provides fleeting results.

With the MyEllevate® process, Dr. D’Amico inserts non-absorbable sutures, and this provides lifting and rejuvenation to the upper neck and jowls for many years.

How long does the MyEllevate® procedure take to perform?

These procedures take less than an hour for most patients.

How does MyEllevate® compare with the durability of thread lifts?

Thread lifts typically last about nine months after the first treatment. That is the time it takes for the polydioxanone threads to be absorbed by the body. The threads used in these lifts are the same materials used for absorbable surgical sutures. If a second treatment is done at that nine-month mark, results can last up to two or three years.

MyEllevate® doesn’t use absorbable sutures. Instead, the suture material is a permanent braided polyester suture. Dr. D’Amico places it deeper than thread lifts, right over the muscle and beneath the skin. Unlike the single line used in a thread lift, with MyEllevate®, Dr. D’Amico makes a long continuous loop that is placed underneath the entire area of the jawline, supporting it over the long term.

How Does MyEllevate® Compare to a Face or Neck Lift?

MyEllevate® is neither a traditional plastic surgery procedure nor a traditional thread lift. Treatment involves the placement of one or more permanent sutures to reposition muscles, fat, glands, and skin along the jawline. This can improve a double chin. The procedure is unlike a face or neck lift because it does not require general anesthesia or incisions. A small nick is made behind the ear to reposition tissue as needed for a smoother jawline. Another small nick may be made under the chin to correct loosening muscle and skin that has caused horizontal bands or crepe-like neck skin.

This technique is also unlike the traditional thread lift because the suture material that is used creates a support sling made of a permanent suture. This is inserted above the muscle using the ICLED lighted suture rod. This instrument allows Dr. D’Amico to reach the precise location at which the muscles and glands of the neck can be best supported. ICLED technology enhances accuracy as well as the longevity of the results achieved through this technique.

Finally, the MyEllevate® procedure does not require any external sutures. The suspension matrix is inserted through tiny punctures that heal on their own. Internally, the new hammock-like suture pattern holds the neck in a more youthful, sculpted contour.

Is MyEllevate® a Surgical Procedure?

The MyEllevate® procedure is performed in the office using a local anesthetic and possibly a mild sedative. It does not require incisions or general anesthesia so it is not considered a plastic surgery procedure. It is classified as more of a non-surgical, minimally-invasive facial rejuvenating technique. No tissue or skin is trimmed during the MyEllevate® procedure. A strong, supportive, permanent suture is inserted to create a new matrix to secure youthful facial contours.

Does MyEllevate® improve the jawline?

Yes. MyEllevate® specifically targets the sagging skin of a double chin. MyEllevate® is great for patients who don’t have lots of fat under their jawline (that can be addressed and decreased with Kybella injections), but whose concern is loose, sagging skin. They’ve lost the definition in their profile.

MyEllevate® lifts this drooping skin, tightening the profile in a very pleasing, long-lasting way.

How Soon Will I See Results From MyEllevate®?

At the conclusion of the MyEllevate® procedure, a chin strap is applied to support the new chin and jawline contours. This should be worn for three days. Patients can expect some degree of swelling and bruising to follow. If the procedure is performed on a Thursday or Friday, it may be possible to return to work on Monday with subtle, if any, lingering side effects. All swelling and bruising are typically resolved in a week. A sensation of tightness may be felt for two to three weeks. This is an indication of the new suture-hammock in action.

How Long Will The Results Of MyEllevate® Last?

Because the MyEllevate® procedure inserts non-absorbable sutures, the results of this technique can last many years. The exact duration of results is difficult to estimate because every person ages differently based on their lifestyle habits, genetics, skin quality, and general health.

What will I feel like after having a MyEllevate® treatment?

These are minimally invasive treatments with Dr. D’Amico. Patients will have some soreness and bruising for a few days. The area will feel tight. You won’t have acute pain. It’s more soreness due to the tiny entry points and the manipulation of the ICLED needle under the skin. This is completely manageable with over-the-counter pain medication.

You can take a couple days to lay low, and then you should feel good without any lasting recovery pain or symptoms.

What Are The Side Effects of MyEllevate®?

The MyEllevate® procedure does not incur lengthy downtime for recovery. Patients may notice some discomfort, swelling, bruising, and tightness. Swelling and bruising typically resolve in a few days. Tissue tightness can last a few weeks but is not a noticeable side effect so does not prevent you from returning to work and other normal activities.

Can MyEllevate® be Combined With Other Procedures?

Woman with natural make-up

Yes. MyEllevate® can be combined with surgical procedures as well as other non-surgical procedures. Examples include a mini-facelift, liposuction of the neck, and skin-tightening such as Ultherapy. Microneedling is also an adjunctive treatment that can be performed with the MyEllevate® procedure. Dr. D’Amico develops customized treatment plans for each patient based on their skin quality, concerns, preferences, and desired outcome.
