Liposuction is a relatively easy and subtle way to improve your appearance, but it isn’t the best solution for everyone. Here’s what you should know if you are considering liposuction.
When should you try something else?
Liposuction is a powerful tool for improving your overall appearance, but it is not a tool for substantial weight loss. Liposuction works best on patients who are at a stable healthy weight. If you want to loose weight, use these tips to get started:
- Start drinking more water. Water has no calories and it helps you manage your appetite.
- Prepare healthy snacks like carrots and almonds so that you aren’t tempted to hit the vending machine when you feel sluggish at work.
- Start taking the stairs, walking on your lunch break, and parking your car further away at the grocery store. Even little things you do to increase your activity will help you shed pounds.
- Find an exercise that you enjoy doing so that you feel motivated. Running is a great way to lose weight, but if you hate running, you aren’t going to exercise. Instead of forcing yourself to do something you hate, try out different exercises until you find something you enjoy. Take a boxing class with a friend, swim laps at a nearby pool, go for a bike ride in your neighborhood, or hike in a nearby forest or canyon.
When is liposuction the right solution?
Liposuction is an excellent solution for people who’ve reached a healthy weight but need some extra help removing stubborn areas of fat. Liposuction is frequently used to target stubborn fat on the abdomen, thighs, and upper back. It can also be used on the neck, chin, and ‘love handles.’ Liposuction could be right for you if you are healthy, but self-conscious about little pockets of fat on your body.
Liposuction is great for spot reduction because you can not target fat in specific areas from diet and exercise alone. Liposuction can reduce those stubborn areas and it will give you the extra help to look your best.
